Wondrous Wintertime

I just got an amazing macro lens. The thing can get to within an inch and a half of something and still be in focus. And I've been in heaven.

So I've done some experimenting with that, as you can see.

I had a party at my house, and we made use of my outdoor fireplace, though it's really huge so I refer to it as my altar.

Went to my a new years party. It was lots of fun, and the trampoline made it so much funner.

Alien abduction or transcendental experience? You decide.

We made artichokes, sweet potatoes, cider, brussel sprouts, salmon ceasar salad, and a scallop and mushroom pasta. It was a veritable marathon of cooking.

Luckily none of my friends had a problem wit me getting up in their faces for portraits, so I got some that I really like.

All these pictures make this guy look really angsty, but he's not, I promise. Here at least he is simply tired, as it was past 5 am.
